During my time at Itaú Unibanco, I worked as a Product Designer dedicated to the Itaú Experience Portal, the main reference platform for the bank's design ecosystem. The objective was clear: to transform the portal into a more intuitive, collaborative, and inspiring environment, capable of connecting design, technology, and business teams around a unified visual and strategic language.
One of my main challenges was reorganizing the portal's information architecture, creating a fluid and easy-to-understand navigation. I worked on restructuring sections such as Design Fundamentals, Components, Patterns, Templates, and Accessibility, as well as creating new areas such as Getting Started and Updates.
This reorganization was guided by usability testing, internal feedback, and best digital documentation practices, ensuring clarity, consistency, and scalability for the Design System's continued growth.
The project involved a strong partnership with Design Ops, Branding, and Development teams, as well as frequent discussions with product leaders. Together, we reinforced the importance of Itaú Design Language as a pillar of identity and consistency across digital products.
The portal's evolution also reflected a cultural shift within Itaú—strengthening collaboration between teams and solidifying design as a strategic discipline in building digital experiences.
The new Itaú Experience Portal has become a hub for knowledge and standardization, reducing rework, increasing Design System adoption, and strengthening team autonomy.
This journey has provided me with valuable insights into systems design, content governance, and continuous product evolution, reaffirming my belief that good design goes far beyond aesthetics: it connects people, processes, and purpose.
